I’m Drawing a Line in the Sand

April 16, 2009

First, let me say, I am a native born Texan, so using such an euphemism is ingrained into my DNA and apropos. I was born and raised in Abilene out in West Texas (yeah, it’s actually a separate place–especially in state-of-mind), it’s a big, little town, home to oil and ranching, cotton farming and vineyards, and friendly-to-the-extreme, God-fearin’, hard workin’, honest, my word-is-my-bond and my handshake-is-my-signature folks. It’s a huge place out there where you can drive thirty miles on a US highwayand meet one car (only) in the middle of the day; where if you come up behind a farmer/rancher driving a little slower than the posted 70 mph speed limit and certainly slower than your interpretation of that same limit, which is probably closer to 80 mph, he’ll pull onto the shoulder so you can pass safely without having to change lanes into the on-coming traffic; where we spend most of Sunday in church no matter what denomination or faith you are and we take high school football as a second religion. It’s also a place where the term Yankee isn’t meant to refer to a NY baseball team, it’s a term for someone from “up North” and someone we have a hard time understanding (not just in language) but how they think and live; so sometimes it’s a derisive term, but mostly it’s just a description. The old joke in Texas is that a Yankee is someone that lives up North, a damn Yankee is a person that comes from up North to visit, and a G-damn Yankee is someone from up north that comes down to Texas and STAYS!  BTW (in full disclosure), I’m married to one of those and she’s a real nice lady, and fortunately has lived in Texas for over 20 years so has been naturalized as a Texas citizen.

Now, all that said, I’m also an American. I served my country in the US Navy riding a submarine and have lived in many of states through my Navy days and since. Since, 9/11, I tear up and get a lump in my throat EVERY time I hear the National Anthem, and would have gladly served again in the military after if they’d had me (too old now). And what’s going on in this country right now tears my loyalties. I cannot speak to all Texans’, West or the remainder of the state (about half), politics; I can only speak to mine and y’all know what that is–just so you know, yesterday DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano confirmed (stood by the Departments assessment) that I am a frakkin’ right-wing extremist radical inclined to become a violent militia member because I am anti-abortion, anti-illegal immigration, anti-massive government and socialist spending and any number of other criteria that was listed in the assessment.

So, to the three extremist issues that are burning up the blogs (more…)

Get out your OSBS Filters

March 27, 2009

I am a sales guy from west Texas, so I can filter bull shit when I hear it, especially when Dear Leader, His Royal Obamaness, says things like, “Our economy only works if we recognize that we’re all in this together, that we all have responsibilities to each other and to our country,” and “We’ll recover from this recession, but it will take time, it will take patience, and it will take an understanding that, when we all work together, when each of us looks beyond our own short-term interest to a wider set of obligations we have towards each other, that’s when we succeed, that’s when we prosper, and that’s what we need right now.”

Fred Barnes at the Weekly Standard calls it “pablum”, I call it Obama Socialist Bull Shit (OSBS) and requires that we don our OSBS Filters to hear the truth. Pablum is defined at Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary as, 2: intellectual sustenance, 3: something (as writing or speech) that is insipid, simplistic, or bland. It is neither “intellectual sustenance” nor “insipid, simplistic, or bland”, well, it may be delivered as the latter, but in reality it’s HRO’s way of making you think his socialist engineering and policies are achieving the successful accomplishment we want during the economic crisis. All he is really saying is that the socialist and marxist tenets that he was taught all of his life, and that he believes in, can be passed along through congressional law making and passing of his absurd and mammoth budget (that will add a trillion dollars a year to the national debt for the next ten years) without you and I, the American Taxpayers, knowing what’s happening until it’s done and too late.

So maybe this “pablum” will nurture those Obamatrons, the FarLEFT and the stupid idiots (is that redundant?) that still get a thrill down their legs at his very presence and appearance, but for me I’m donning my OSBS filter and listening straight to his line of crap, knowing that he means to continue his destruction of the American Way; our Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness; and the business model of personal responsibility and entrepreneurial capitalism that has served, grown and prospered in this country so well for over two and a quarter centuries. What he wants is the U.S.S.A., the United Socialist States of America, and he won’t stop the “pablum” for the masses until he gets it.

The language of Obamanomics.

President Obama insists he’s a free-market guy. But you have to wonder whether he understands how a free economy really works. His policies and his words–especially what he said at his press conference this week–suggest his sense of what makes economies grow and how people are affected by government policies is surprisingly weak.

Some of what Obama says is just pablum and isn’t supposed to be taken as serious economic thought. At least I hope not. Rather, it might be called economic morale-boosting. Nothing wrong with that, unless he actually believes what he’s saying.

He said at his press conference, for example, (more…)

Wildebeest Care is the Key to Economic Recovery!

March 6, 2009

Centered by the ever-present bronze-tinted, but opaque teleprompters (whispers among the White House Residential Staff say that before joining Michelle in bed each night, the TPs–as they call them–are arranged on either side of the Presidential bed’s headboard with a script running to the effect, “Yeah, baby! Yeah, Momma; Daddy’s got yo’ back and I cannot lie!” and “The Big O’s a gonna fix it right!”–there has been no video to confirm this, unfortunately, but keep watching to YouTube, you never know) and flanked by his Minister of Propaganda; the Secretary of the Interior, amazingly the only nominee that had paid his taxes, but expects to recoup that money through the Indian Affairs and Casinos Department; and Wildebeest Czar, Jim Folwer, the anaconda-wrestling, geriatric right-hand man, sidekick, schlub and patsy to Marlin Perkins on Wild Kingdom, President (Transparency and No Earmarks) Obama addressed the ever-so-important National Wildlife Reform Forum yesterday.

After introductions and the wait for the teleprompters to warm up, he prefaced (reading from said devices) the need for the forum with, “By a wide margin, the biggest threat to our nation’s balance sheet is the skyrocketing cost of Wildebeest care–it’s not even close.  If we want to create jobs and rebuild our economy, and get our federal budget under control, then we have to address the crushing cost of Wildebeest care this year, in this administration.” And finally, he expressed the direness of emergency, “The cost of Wildebeest care now causes a  bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds.” Gosh, who gnu?

When confronted by a reporter, that Wildebeests are not native to the United States or the Western hemisphere for that matter, and pretty much restricted to the African continent and almost exclusively to the Serengeti, and asked for the research regarding the statistics on bankruptcies caused by Gnu Care, the effervescent and bouncy, Christina Romer of the Council of Economic Czars and Rasputins (doesn’t she remind you of your old Bozo Bop Bag, the punching ballon from your childhood, or a Russian Nested Doll that you want to un-nest to see if she just disappears), she bounced and giggled, “I’m gonna [sic] to have to  check the numbers for you; I think the important thing is the idea is absolutely true.”

So, now we have another (one) expressly derived reason and cause of the Economic Crisis and the KEY to recovery–fix Wildebeest Care!

In reality, he was centered between the ever-present teleprompters, and we’re still awaiting the video evidence regarding the WH Bedroom rumors, and flanked by his minions, but Dear Leader was speaking before the Health Care Forum and indeed The Key to recovery was fixing health care.

“By a wide margin, the biggest threat to our nations balance sheet is the skyrocketing cost of health care; it’s not even close.” Followed by, “If we want to create jobs and rebuild our economy, and get our federal budget under control, then we have to address the crushing cost of health care this year in this administration.” and “The cost of health care now causes a  bankruptcy in America Every thirty seconds.”

Nyah, Nyah, We Told You So!

February 24, 2009

Throughout the Democrat Primaries and Election, we who espoused and ranted (ineffectually, I might add against the lustful Obamatrons and MSM) about who and what Barack Obama was were ridiculed, called racist and didn’t want change because we were neanderthals, mouth breathers, racists (again & again), fascists, and any inordinate amount of other disgusting and obscene descriptions as extensions and continuations of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome), even though he was even running, including then, transference to SDS (Sara [Palin] Derangement Syndrome).

We who paid attention by watching FOXNews; listening to Conservative Talk Radio; read from LittleGreenFootballs, RightWingNews, TownHall, PajamasMedia, HotAir, GatewayPundit, et al; and blogged around the e-niverse knew exactly what we were going to get if BHO was elected–the most leftist and socialist administration in the history of the United States.

So, now, three & a half months from the election after which I, and others much higher in the public domain than I, said we HAD to give Obama a chance (of course we were slammed and ostracized for that from the right) and try to support him so the country didn’t fail, especially since we were told that he was pragmatic and more centrist than he looked on paper. Most of us also qualified that statement and wish with “until he proves different” and then all bets were off and we would shotu from the roof tops. I’m shouting now, is anyone listening? Of course, it’s too late to change things, but hey, I’m yelling my head off again, just as I did before he was elected.

Well, now one month since his Inaugural, HRO has proven we were right and now, we can say, Nyah, Nyah, We Told You SO!  We are already seeing the LEFT’s, Liberals, Socialists and Demon-crats 40 year Wish List passed under the auspices of an Emergency (as Rahm Emanuel stated, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.”) Under the Banking Crisis we will see the nationalizationof the Financial system and along with the Auto Bailout and the inclusion of the Card Check Law (or the “You’se Gonna Join da Union, arn’cha?” Law) the unlimited expansion of Unions–the UAW runs ads on the Socialist Party USA.

My wife and I almost break our fingers trying to hit the mute button on the remote every time HRO gets live or regurgitated reporting on TV. She told me last night, just as I’m sure most of us have thought frequently, “I am already sick of him (Obama, if you lost track), I can’t stand to hear his voice or see his face.”  We’re all there, but we knew with the MSM and just the fact that he’s President, he was going to have more coverage than anyone else in history. Hopefully, he’ll be just as covered when all of his plans fails and the country falls apart, but I won’t hold my breath.

Here are just two articles that express both of these feelings from myself, others and probably YOU:

Things That Have Gotten Better (and Worse) Since Obama Became President

February 21, 2009

Gina Cobb (she herself blogging at GINA COBB) and posting at RWN (RightWingNews) has summed the first month of RHO’s accomplishments very tidily.

Things That Have Gotten WORSE Since Obama Became President

A lot has changed in the month since Obama became president. Let’s review, shall we?

1. The U.S. stock market has plumetted to a six-year low. But, hey, it’s only your retirement money, right?

2. Nationalization of banks has become a serious possibility. America, the new banana republic.

3. Obama has backed three MASSIVE new spending initiatives (the $787 billion stimulus bill, the trillion-dollar financial stability initiative and the $275 billion mortgage assistance program). A trillion here, a trillion there — but who’s counting?

4. Hundreds of thousands of classic children’s books (children’s books printed before the early 1980s) are being destroyed all across the country because they may contain miniscule traces of lead in their print

5. Obama has lost a key air base providing the only supply line into Afghanistan, jeopardizing any future military action the U.S. may need to take in the region

6. Russia has become emboldened and increasingly aggressive

7. Iran has also become more emboldened and aggressive, has launched its first home-built earth satellite, and now has enough material to make a nuclear weapon

8. Pakistan has freed the notorious A.Q. Khan, who sold nuclear technology to North Korea, Libya and Iran, and has capitulated to the brutal Taliban in the Swat region

9. Obama has announced that he will close Guantanamo within a year — even though his administration has no clear answer to the question of what to do with the most dangerous GITMO terrorists, including 9/11 matermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

10. Obama has dropped charges against the U.S.S. Cole bombing suspect allegedly responsible for the deaths of American sailors. It’s been a good month for terrorists.

Now, here is a list of the things that have gotten better since Obama became president:

Things That Have Gotten BETTER Since Obama Became President

1. America has had its first African American president. (Technically, this doesn’t count, though, since it didn’t happen after Obama became president).

2. . . . .

Surely there’s something.

2.. . . . . .

Help me out here.

Anyone?

2. . . . .

I guess that’s it, then.

I can’t wait to see Obama’s second month in office.

I Love VDH–Victor Davis Hanson

February 17, 2009

I Love Victor Davis Hanson–he can cut to the chase and lay it out so much better than most of the others that only try to explain what is going on and (to use my mom’s best sayings) “How the cow ate the cabbage.”

The Audacity of Irony
“Hope and change” meet reality. The ironies bring us back to the unlamented days of Jimmy Carter.
By Victor Davis Hanson

We have seen irony before, when the moralist Jimmy Carter chastised us with sermons about our paranoid, inordinate fear of Communism and our amoral unconcern with human rights, even as the dividends of his policies were the Soviets in Afghanistan and the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran — and even greater global misery than before.

For the last 24 months a youthful Barack Obama has daily offered unspecified “hope and change” idealism — all set against the supposed cynical wrongdoing of the tired Bush administration. In the unhinged manner in which his supporters turned a center-right president like George Bush into some sort of sinister reactionary, so too they deified a rookie senator as the long-awaited liberal messiah.

How could irony not follow from all that?

For the past seven years the United States has seen no repeat of 9/11, although plots were uncovered and threats from radical Islam were leveled in serial fashion. The ability to intercept and hold terrorists overseas, to tap into cell-phone calls abroad, to detain terrorists caught on the field of battle, and to ensure that intelligence agencies freely swapped information was critical to our unexpected salvation.

Like Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Truman, and other wartime presidents (though none of the above witnessed 3,000 Americans butchered on the soil of the United States by foreign agents), George Bush, with strong bipartisan support, enacted new wartime protocols in the effort to protect the security of the United States. Only a fool would suggest that these homeland-security efforts were unnecessary, or that, in unprecedented fashion, they shredded the Constitution.

Stimulus Deal? So, where’s MY job?

February 8, 2009

Those that know me well, and maybe some of those other few that stop in here to read, know that I was laid off the last week of December; primarily due to the economic crisis, and specifically, the absolute dying of consumer and DOD electronics orders.

I’m a technical sales guy. I have sold everything from ion-implanters (used in the process of semiconductor chips manufacturing) to Heating and Air Conditioning; from CAD equipment to printed circuit boards, and then driller/routers in the printed circuit board manufacturing industry to dry ice blasters for non-destructive industrial cleaning. So, if you notice, they’re all driven by consumer needs or requirements.

Now, from one minute to the next I cannot tell you what’s in or what’s out of the Stimulus Bill that the Senate RINOs (Snow/Collins/Spectre, oops, Specter) caved into Reid for a piece of the pie and seems to be poised to pass on Tuesday. There is a tiny tax cut for businesses that hopefully will encourage expansion and hiring. There is going to be “tax cuts” in the form of money/checks to “taxpayers”, and maybe that will drive a revitalization of consumer wants & desires.

The majority of the bill is spending on Democrat-favored pork, they’re earmarks (even though the Democrats refuse to call it that) programs and social engineering.

Oh sure, there are the shovel-ready projects like water slides, frisbee golf courses, dog parks that might produce jobs (what, those three need around 20 folks–ooh, wow, sign me up). Then there are the infrastructure rebuilding and planning that should produce jobs, but those will be subcontracted out to companies that specialize in that type of work who already have employees. Maybe not enough, so perhaps that will create a 10-20% increase in employment at dirt cheap wages, unless you’re a heavy machinery operator (perhaps I should be going to one of those tranining schools; although, if I can drive a submarine–which I’ve done–then how hard can a bulldozer be?).

All the other spending is programs that will NOT create jobs–STD Prevention & Education programs (I hear it’s in, then it’s out; but I’m with Sean Hannity, you wouldn’t need this item at all if you QUIT having sex with strangers!); money to the National Endowment for the Arts (hey, I write, give me me some of that); BILLIONS are going to (are you ready) ACORN! (Well, I guess it does take money to rig elections and pay voters to vote 10-30 times.) There’s hundreds of millions to billions of dollars for research and investigation of non-existent Anthropogenic (man-made) Global Warming or Climate Change, as the Goracle is trying to re-brand it as more and more actual planetary/geologic/environmental scientist are coming out exposing the hoax. More Millions will be sent to left-winged National Public(?) Radio; and  hundreds of  billions and billions to things we don’t even know about.  Billions to do away with oil production and invest in pie-in-the-sky environmentally-friendly energy that will do nothing, again in the short term, but raise our energy costs. But, tell me how many jobs are going to be created with this specific spending?

The spending is supposed to and is directed to stimulate the economy in the short term. The shovel-ready and infrastructure projects won’t even start this year for the most part, and in most cases not before 2010! The social projects/programs will create little if no private sector jobs, if a few are created they will be governement jobs–growing the government again–and how do you get those jobs?

And I have a problem with the Republican plans as well–they’re harping on fixing the Housing and Automobile debacles! ‘They’re what started this mess.’ They want to bail out the folks under the threat of  foreclosure (now, I can sympathise with them, but my understanding was that was part of the November TARP bailout); and give tax credits to folks that buy homes and cars? I’m out of work, trying to manage living expenses and stay in my rental home on the paltry sum of $1512 a month from unemployment insurance. The last thing I am planning on doing in the near foreseeable future is buy a house or new car! And the one thing in the bill I thought I could use was helping pay COBRA health insurance and the damn Republicans cut that out! Geez!

I’d prefer to make a living writing. I mean, I have four complete novels finished (about a total of 1300 pages ready for print), a fantasy trilogy and a espionage/terrorist novel, but I can’t find an agent or a publisher. I’m a neophyte and trying to weed through the minutia and break into the clique to get published is nearly impossible without help from someone inside. I have another eleven novels to write in the fantasy series, four more with my new recurring intelligence character and then one or two others. These are all working in my head, but I have no way to get them out while trying to find a job consuming my life right now, but if I was published, then I could; wait, that’s the Catch-22, isn’t it. Oh well.

So, my question is this, of the 825 Billion to 1 Trillion (after it goes back through Congress and Pelosi adds back in what the Senate stripped out) spending and tax cuts where is my job? Although, I’m not abject to physical labor, those construction jobs will go to others before I get in line as there really won’t be that many jobs created and they’ll be going to base line pay grades. I’m a technical guy, I carried a electronics’ field engineering toolkit before I moved into sales some 20+ years ago, so my technical troubleshooting expertise is far out of state-of-the-art.

I know I will find a job, I always do, but with this economic malaise/crisis/atmosphere it will probably be a while. My point in being so honest and forthcoming here in this post is to articulate what most of us that are unemployed are feeling right now. The Stimulus does NOTHING to create enough jobs to make a difference, nor does it Stimulate the economy to create the jobs needed. It rewards those that the Democrats favor and got Obama elected, it rewards those that already screwed up or failed their customers in business, and rewards those that want the government to take over their lives and ensure that they continue their free ride on the government dole.

I stated this in my last post, Obama has failed and is ignoring or denying it–this is not a win for America and the people know it. The President is, in fact, ignoring the Polls that show there is less than 40% in favor of the bill, but Onama/Pelosi/Reid always state that the Majority of Americans are in favor–I guess they can’t read. Hey, that would explain why they don’t pay their taxes; that and they know where that money goes–so why pay them if it’s just getting flushed along with the other crap that they put out.

The Emperor’s Socialist Mandate

February 1, 2009

Obama’s decisive wining of the Presidency (Obama/Biden 52.9% (365 EC)  69,456,897 PV;  McCain/Palin45.6% (173 EC) 59,934,814 PV) evidently and ultimately meant that the Left has carte blanche to act however, and say, do and pass whatever they have wished for since the 1960s. In fact, both Obama & Pelosi have stated that  “I/We Won!” The juvenile “nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah” & raspberries are implied,  just silent but evident in their attitude.

So, they’re “Shocked. I tell you! Shocked! That…”  the Republicans & Conservatives didn’t shut up and go home for the next four years; and also that Rush Limbaugh told Sean Hannity that he wants Obama to fail…(now, that’s where the Left quit listening and jumped both feet into the manure pile) he clarified that he wanted Obama’s liberal/socialist policies & agenda to fail. This is exactly what I was hammered with as well on Election Night and Inauguration Day, but from the other side–my side–for saying that I/We had to support Obama and ensure he doesn’t fail as it would take the country with him, BUT (and maybe I didn’t articulate this well enough), I did not mean I wanted the Right to rollover and let Obama/Reid/Pelosi pass anything or everything they wanted to turn the U.S. into a Euro/Socialist country. I’m exactly with Rush on this–I want the U.S. to succeed, but not at the hands of the Left categorically and fundamentally changing the United States–in that, I want Obama to fail.

SO, the Emperor’s Mandate is just as the clothes in the fable–it’s invisible. Yessir, he won decisively by 7.3% in the popular vote, but the Left looks at the Electoral College landslide incorrectly, and obviously, thinking that all those folks in the states that went Obama are now converts to the One–they aren’t, they’re pissed like me.

Obama’s mandate does NOT mean that the Left can finally FIX all those things that are wrong  in the Country (in their eyes) in one fell swoop by passing the Wish List of the last 40 years under the auspices and cover of the $819 Billion (or $1.2 Trillion with interest) Stimulus Bill.  100s of millions to STD Research & Education, the NEA (Nat’l Endowment for the Arts) and other social items, and billions(!) to pay off ACORN. Less than 25% is actual emergency stimulus to get the economy moving NOW, and more than half of that won’t even happen until 2010, 11, & 12, if not later. This isn’t even the WPA (a’la FDR) infrastructure work programs that we feared they would cram down our throats.

How can they be shocked that as we, the American people,  learn more of what items are in the bill that do nothing to put money and jobs into the economy; and with each passing day the polling indicates fewer and fewer Americans favor the bill as it stands or came out of Congress?

Does the Left understand this is Obama’s first failure? Nope, not yet.

Sure, there will be the RINO Senators that will work as “bi-partisan” agents with Obama & Reid. Hopefully, the Senate Republicans will dust off their cojones, as did the Congressional Republicans along with 11 Democrats, and either filibuster or cull out the earmarks, social engineering and graft/payoffs before this abomination gets put in place.

The Triumviri–President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Reid–must realize that 46% of the American people did not vote for their “mandate”, they voted to prevent it; and to tell these folks “not to listen to Rush Limbaugh” will only ensure that Rush picks up more listeners. And more listeners means more voters willing to hear what needs to be done and then doing it by contacting their representatives and letting them know that the American people are actually going to  listen to what the Senate is doing.

My Multi-Trillion Dollars Stimulus Plan

January 11, 2009

Forget the headaches in doling out money (who gets it and how much?) to needy corporations or industries that ran their businesses into the ground.  Forget Obama’s grand revisiting of FDR’s 30s WPA  (that never really worked) in redoing and repairing the Nations/States/Cities infrastructure. And for Heaven’s sakes–Don’t Bail Out The Porn Industry! Geez!! Forget the “tax credits” for 95% of American “workers”, which means a majority of those receiving a check haven’t paid any Federal Income Tax, so those checks become welfare checks–also, forget the “Alan Colmes” argument that those folks pay state/city/sales taxes; excuse me Alan, the money is coming out of the taxes paid to the Federal Gov’t, not from States’ & Cities’ coffers.

And then there is what are the totals? Some estimates are that the total so far with all the stimulus and bailouts is around $7.2 Trillion (yep, that’s 72 with 11 zeros after it) and that doesn’t include Obama’s plan that he says is around $775 Billion–Prince Harry Reid says it’s realistically over an additional $1.2T!

Instead, of a measly $500 individual or $1000 family of “working” folks (you can’t even buy a decent-sized flat screen with either of those numbers–Holy Moly, what kind of stimulus is that?), let’s just give a straight lump sum stimulus check to every last U.S. Citizen (legal, of course) man, woman & child, which according to the U.S. POPClock Projection of the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the resident population of the United States, projected to 01/11/09 at 09:03 GMT (EST+5) is 305,593,220 (now, that includes (unspecified classification) immigrants but we’ll presume they are legal).

Okay, so if we give 306M (rounded up since that’s going to happen within the next three months) legal citizens of the United States an equal share of the Bailouts/Stimulus why wouldn’t that work better than the stupid buyout/bailout/socialist plans that President Bush, President-elect Obama, Hank Paulson & the Congress, et al, came up with.

Let’s see, at $7.2Tthat means each check would total $23,530; at 8.4T, that’s $27,450–talk about trickle down economics! Now, the rules for the individual checks–everybody gets one and of those that go to the children (we’ll use 18 years old as the cut-off, unless they are emancipated minors–and no fair emancipating yourself between the news statements and getting the checks) the money goes to the legal guardian/parent/overseer. Okay, so in using the smaller of the two numbers, a couple will get approximately $47,000.00; a family of four (minor children), $94,000.00! And you could forget the need to cut or mess with the Capital Gains Tax, but of course, the economy would be even stronger if it was repealed.

How couldn’t this money get to where it truly needs to be given (a better distribution plan per need and to those that should stay in business, even the UAW would end up with some through car purchases). It’ll go into banks to start, then out to where ever. Sure, smart folks will pay down their debt and payoff the credit cards, most will still have some money left over to go spend which helps the city/state tax coffers, who’ll then spend the money on the infrastructure. Some, maybe a large proportion, will use the money as a 20% down payment to buy a house; another clear majority will go buy a car; many will invest it into the US markets (the DOW would break and stay above the 13,000 by the end of the year); and the rest and all with extra money will go on a monumental spending spree!

But, wait you say, what about the trashed economy? This will instantaneously fix the economy. But, wait you say, what about the folks that just put in savings or 401K, etc? Fine, it’s in a bank somewhere, which means assets, which means LENDING!  Lending for the Homes, Cars, etc.! As well, all those college age and college students (those over the 18 yo cut-off) can pay a pretty sizable sum toward their education, pay on the College Loans, etc. Oh, sure, there will be some epic keggers (they’ll make Animal House look like a kindergarten juice and cookies snack), but again it pays into the city/state taxes, and, guys,  you could BUY your own tap and upgrade to the good stuff–from Keystone to Budweiser!

Yeah, I know this ain’t gonna happen, duh; but, isn’t it a much better plan than any of the numbnuts in Washington have come up with to stimulate the economy–forget stimulating–this fixes the whole issue in an instant!
