I will be…

February 26, 2009

Over the next few days I will be out and about; thankfully going to a job interview today and, then tomorrow, traveling to my father’s in Kingsland in the Texas Hill Country on Lake LBJ to celebrate his 85th birthday on Saturday.

I will be touching base for eMail and comments. There’s little doubt that I may make at least one post over the weekend with all the HRO news going on with the OmniBS (new heights in Porkculus Earmarks)  Bill and the Budget (read as Permanent & Continuing Expansion of Government); not to mention the incoming Czars that will side-step the Separations of Powers, the Cap and Trade Emissions plan to kill the U.S. industrial and energy production capability, the Unfair Union Intimidation (Card Check) Law,  the reinstatement of the Bush Assault Weapons Ban, and other social engineering issues as The ONE continues to fundamentally change the United States!

So check back and in the meantime, please check out the past Posts and my Novel’s Excerpt and let me know if you’d like more to read or a look at my Fantasy work.

Thanks and see you next week if not sooner.

Responsibility, Mo’Money & Bigger Government; Yada, Yada, Blah, Blah, Blah

February 25, 2009

Trying. To. Keep. Head. From. Exploding!

I’m watching my tape of Dear Leader’s State of Calamity Speech, Governor Bobby (the futrue hope of the Republican Party???) Jindal’s stilted, boring and ineffectual rebuttal and the forever dissection by the Talking Heads (not the eclectic 70s, 80s,90s band) and vapid politicians from last night.

Holy Crap!

There are many much more qualified political commenters all over the web (click any of the Links in my side panel) than me, so I’m going to disappoint you [sarc] and decline boring you with details from the speech or the continuing empty bullshit from The ONE. I will say this again, Holy Crap. How the hell is any of this going to get paid for? He’s going to quadruple the deficit and double the government as a whole.  The expansions for energy alternatives, education & health care are insane and unrealistic–again, please look to others for the nitty-gritty for those analysiseseses (geez, what is the plural of analysis?).

Here’s what I saw:

Her Majesty, the Queen, Nancy Pelosi portraying one of two things–a jack-in-the-box or a Jr. high School cheerleader.  And if I ever have to spend another hour of my life looking at her Mortimor Snerd (who’s old enough out there to remember that reference? See Below) smirk I will have to kill myself.

Mortimer Snerd by danielhandal.

I also study how the audience claps, from hands flap-slapping together–all vary in enthusiasm and speed from the one clap a second to the wing beat velocity of an African Swallow; and in the same vein of reference (NodNodWinkWink) there are also the cupped-handed coconut clappers; the golf claps to the clapping of one hand to the back of the other as they study the program; the the up/down Gore center-of-the-chest-clap (who teaches that one, where does one learn it? I suspect they all rode the short-yellow-school bus) and the “oh boy, goody, goody happy clap” (Pelosi) the hand straight up as in prayer and clapping as if a cupcake was being held out to her.

I also like when they pan the audience and see the outright boredom of the law-makers until enjoined to jump to theie feet by the aforementioned cheerleader above, but I shouldn’t point fingers, at least I could fast forward–they couldn’t.

Nyah, Nyah, We Told You So!

February 24, 2009

Throughout the Democrat Primaries and Election, we who espoused and ranted (ineffectually, I might add against the lustful Obamatrons and MSM) about who and what Barack Obama was were ridiculed, called racist and didn’t want change because we were neanderthals, mouth breathers, racists (again & again), fascists, and any inordinate amount of other disgusting and obscene descriptions as extensions and continuations of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome), even though he was even running, including then, transference to SDS (Sara [Palin] Derangement Syndrome).

We who paid attention by watching FOXNews; listening to Conservative Talk Radio; read from LittleGreenFootballs, RightWingNews, TownHall, PajamasMedia, HotAir, GatewayPundit, et al; and blogged around the e-niverse knew exactly what we were going to get if BHO was elected–the most leftist and socialist administration in the history of the United States.

So, now, three & a half months from the election after which I, and others much higher in the public domain than I, said we HAD to give Obama a chance (of course we were slammed and ostracized for that from the right) and try to support him so the country didn’t fail, especially since we were told that he was pragmatic and more centrist than he looked on paper. Most of us also qualified that statement and wish with “until he proves different” and then all bets were off and we would shotu from the roof tops. I’m shouting now, is anyone listening? Of course, it’s too late to change things, but hey, I’m yelling my head off again, just as I did before he was elected.

Well, now one month since his Inaugural, HRO has proven we were right and now, we can say, Nyah, Nyah, We Told You SO!  We are already seeing the LEFT’s, Liberals, Socialists and Demon-crats 40 year Wish List passed under the auspices of an Emergency (as Rahm Emanuel stated, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.”) Under the Banking Crisis we will see the nationalizationof the Financial system and along with the Auto Bailout and the inclusion of the Card Check Law (or the “You’se Gonna Join da Union, arn’cha?” Law) the unlimited expansion of Unions–the UAW runs ads on the Socialist Party USA.

My wife and I almost break our fingers trying to hit the mute button on the remote every time HRO gets live or regurgitated reporting on TV. She told me last night, just as I’m sure most of us have thought frequently, “I am already sick of him (Obama, if you lost track), I can’t stand to hear his voice or see his face.”  We’re all there, but we knew with the MSM and just the fact that he’s President, he was going to have more coverage than anyone else in history. Hopefully, he’ll be just as covered when all of his plans fails and the country falls apart, but I won’t hold my breath.

Here are just two articles that express both of these feelings from myself, others and probably YOU:

“Websites that must be banned!” per the Obamatrons

February 23, 2009

It’s out there. They are still furthering their cause for Dear Leader, the Messiah, The ONE, His Royal Obamaness and aren’t even a little bashful about it. A friend just forwarded this to me:  The Obama Forum (Claiming to be ” Grassroots in Action” and “Forum for the Supporters of President Obama”, where they are calling for Banned Websites (plus a whole host of other things–see below). How do I get on that list? Maybe this post will do it. It would be like getting on Olbermanniac’s, “Worst Person in the WORLD!”

Review: John Zielger’s Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected…

February 23, 2009

For those that don’t know of John Ziegler’s work exposing the LEFT and Media’s absolute powering of His Royal Obamaness’ election, this review will explain all. I have been signed up with John’s updates since his first apperance on FOXNews just days after the election with interviews of O-voters, showing how uninformed or propagandized they were at the polls.

This documentary is a scathing report on how The ONE was foisted upon us by the MSM (Main Stream Media), and as Bernie Goldberg coins it, “A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (and Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media” and Sean Hannity calls, “The death of Journalism in 2008”.

Big Hollywood is Andrew Breitbart’s Conservative voice for the minority in Hollywood, the Liberal Bastion of all that’s wrong with America.

Please give the Review a Read and get pissed off once again.

Review: Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted  by John Nolte

Big Hollywood was given an exclusive first look at John Ziegler’s latest documentary covering the media coverage of the 2008 presidential election.

In journalistic terms it’s called a “tick-tock.” This is when the media crafts a news story that takes you behind the scenes of an event and breaks down, piece by linear piece, the individual acts which led up to that event. With “[1] Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted,” director [2] John Ziegler (”[3] Blocking the Path to 9/11“) turns the art of the tick-tock around and aims it, with damning effect, squarely at the news media.  The result is not a documentary, at least not for anyone who believes in truth, fairness or journalistic integrity – the result is a horror film.

If you expect Ziegler to build his case using easy targets like Keith Olbermann [5] aping David Strathairn playing Edward R. Murrow, think again. Olbermann’s a bit player in this cinematic indictment, a clown. The real conspirators run the gamut of every network (cable and otherwise), and most of the major print and online publications. Maybe it’s not a horror story, after all. Maybe it’s something closer to an Agatha Christie mystery where everyone’s the murderer.

The victim, of course, is American journalism. (more…)

The LEFT’s Side of the Coin on Patriotism

February 21, 2009

There is always another side to the coin and that includes the LEFT–here’s one of there takes on how our “right-winged writers” are being “outrageous, scandalous and unpatriotic” regarding HRO and Congress’ valiant and brave effort to right what’s wrong with the United States. Marks Steyn rightly takes humbrage of the challenge to his patriotism at NRO Corner.

Published in the Reporter

It is outrageous, scandalous and unpatriotic, what is being written about President Obama and a Congress that is attempting to clean up the mess left in Washington by yet another mediocre Republican, who destroyed America at home and her good name and reputation in the world.
The cases in point are two letters to the editor (“Stop the stimulus package” and “Pork and ideology: Don’t count on stimulus,” both published Feb. 13) attacking directly and indirectly the Obama administration’s strategies and Congress’ will. They do so by quoting two writers and political commentators, Amity Shales [sic–he can’t even check spelling of someone he attacks] and Mark Steyn, whose patriotic loyalty and political opinion is questionable.

Shales still claims that the New Deal was a scheme and that President Roosevelt and the New Deal did nothing to end the Great Depression. She is probably still longing for the return of Republican Herbert Hoover, who declined to pursue legislative relief, believing that it would make people dependent on the federal government. Only toward the end of his term did he support a series of legislative solutions to the Great Depression — too little too late. On Hurricane Katrina, Shales wrote, “The fact that the country and President Bush personally were already mobilized for disaster has saved lives”; she was fired from the Financial Times for her outrageous and questionable remarks.

As for Mark Steyn, Salon.com published an article calling Steyn a “faux warrior” who is “one of the most extremist warmongers in our country,” adding that Steyn has been “as fundamentally wrong as one can be about virtually every issue he has touched.”He appears on radio shows, such as those of right-wingers Rush Limbaugh and Hugh Hewitt. Limbaugh has publicly stated that he wants President Obama to fail. You can’t get more unpatriotic and right wing than that.

It is apparent that the two letter writers anchor their knowledge on right-wing writings and thoughts that are fundamentally wrong; therefore, their assumptions and ideology are by inference wrong as well.

ACORN Office in the White House

February 21, 2009

HRO (His Royal Obamaness) signed an Executive Order “ESTABLISHMENT OF THE WHITE HOUSE OFFICE OF URBAN AFFAIRS” on Thursday the 19th, evidently quietly with no fanfare; another campaign promised payoff to his roots and supporters.

Not only is ACORN in line for 100s of Millions in “Stimulus” money (they DO have to apply for it–do any of you think that other organizations of lesser notoriety will receive moneys over ACORN?) but now, don’t worry,  the new Urban Affairs Office will ensure all that money gets where it’s supposed to go. Just wait to see who he puts in charge.

EXECUTIVE ORDER

– – – – – – –

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE WHITE HOUSE OFFICE OF URBAN AFFAIRS

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to take a coordinated and comprehensive approach to developing and implementing an effective strategy concerning urban America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1.  Policy.  About 80 percent of Americans live in urban areas, and the economic health and social vitality of our urban communities are critically important to the prosperity and quality of life for Americans.  Vibrant cities spawn innovation, economic growth, and cultural enrichment through the businesses, universities, and civic, cultural, religious, and nonprofit institutions they attract.  Forward-looking policies that encourage wise investment and development in our urban areas will create employment and housing opportunities and make our country more competitive, prosperous, and strong.  In the past, insufficient attention has been paid to the problems faced by urban areas and to coordinating the many Federal programs that affect our cities.  A more comprehensive approach is needed, both to develop an effective strategy for urban America and to coordinate the actions of the many executive departments and agencies whose actions impact urban life.

Sec. 2.  Establishment.  There is established within the Executive Office of the President the White House Office of Urban Affairs (the “Office”).

Sec. 3.  Functions.  The principal functions of the Office are, to the extent permitted by law:

 (a)  to provide leadership for and coordinate the development of the policy agenda for urban America across executive departments and agencies;

 (b)  to coordinate all aspects of urban policy;

 (c)  to work with executive departments and agencies to ensure that appropriate consideration is given by such departments and agencies to the potential impact of their actions on urban areas;

 (d)  to work with executive departments and agencies, including the Office of Management and Budget, to ensure that Federal Government dollars targeted to urban areas are effectively spent on the highest-impact programs; and

 (e)  to engage in outreach and work closely with State and local officials, with nonprofit organizations, and with the private sector, both in seeking input regarding the development of a comprehensive urban policy and in ensuring that the implementation of Federal programs advances the objectives of that policy.  [my emphasis]

Sec. 4.  Coordination.  In performing its functions, the Office shall work closely with [read the rest through the White House title link above]

Want ‘Hope and Change’? Buy a Goat

February 19, 2009

One of my “New” Favorites on the Web is Pajama’s Media (actually, I’ve been reading them through other blogs for a while now). They have an article from a Ukranian immigrant who’s seen it all before and came to the US to get away from it! My problem is, where can we go to get away from it if we can’t fight it?

Thanks to Susan for passing along to me–

Want ‘Hope and Change’? Buy a Goat

As an old joke suggests, inviting socialism into our homes might help us better appreciate the blessings of freedom.

Although the mainstream media won’t report it as such, Obama’s approval numbers are shrinking. Which means that elsewhere, certain numbers are growing — the unreported-by-the-MSM growing numbers of Americans who are kicking themselves for not having bothered to read the small print underneath the word “change.”

The small print was kind of blurry, while “change” was spelled in huge, pleasing letters on the signs they held at the rallies. The fierce urgency of now was in the air. Everybody was in such a hurry to bring about change; there was no time to ask “why” or “what kind of change.” As objectivity faded into the sunset, their individual brains melted into a euphoric collective mush, swirling around the only remaining absolute — change. In the absence of other standards, the truth became a mere matter of taste, subject to change without notice. If it didn’t change, it wasn’t the truth.

So they won the election; now what? Three months later and almost a month into Obama’s presidency, as the nation is beginning to rub its sore, swollen eyelids and finally trying to focus on reality, it looks in the mirror and, with a shock, notices a gigantic hammer and sickle tattooed on its forehead, which clearly wasn’t there before. The bubbling euphoric pulp has solidified into a depressing pile of unpaid bills and warrants. The computer has turned into a shovel and the big-screen TV into a 1930s-style radio, with the disciplined voice of Dear Leader calling for unity and sacrifice in the face of mounting economic hardships. The only thing left unchanged is the Obama t-shirt with the magic word “change” on the chest.

Being an immigrant from the former USSR — the land of equally redistributed misery — I used to cringe when Americans complained to me about the perceived misery and lack of opportunity under capitalism. I laughed at American homegrown agitators who were carping on behalf of “communities” about the lack of “economic justice.” They sounded like ignorant, spoiled brats who hated their rich parents for giving them the car of the wrong color. The whiners either didn’t realize how good they had it or they were being deliberately misleading. Either way their message was a fraud.

I had witnessed the stagnation and the collapse of a centralized command economy that, in the absence of the markets, was fueled by the carrot and stick of coercion and stale motivational slogans. I had lived through the hyperinflation, when I had to pay a million rubles to a guy who fixed the rusty refrigerator in my kitchen. I had seen the old country plunge into the chaos of mass unemployment and crime, while it was being robbed to the bone by crooked unelected officials who profited from the corrupt scheme to merge socialism and capitalism — a half-baked brainchild of Clinton’s economists who are now advising Obama.

In other words, I had been at the end of this road and I didn’t want to take it again.

I Love VDH–Victor Davis Hanson

February 17, 2009

I Love Victor Davis Hanson–he can cut to the chase and lay it out so much better than most of the others that only try to explain what is going on and (to use my mom’s best sayings) “How the cow ate the cabbage.”

The Audacity of Irony
“Hope and change” meet reality. The ironies bring us back to the unlamented days of Jimmy Carter.
By Victor Davis Hanson

We have seen irony before, when the moralist Jimmy Carter chastised us with sermons about our paranoid, inordinate fear of Communism and our amoral unconcern with human rights, even as the dividends of his policies were the Soviets in Afghanistan and the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran — and even greater global misery than before.

For the last 24 months a youthful Barack Obama has daily offered unspecified “hope and change” idealism — all set against the supposed cynical wrongdoing of the tired Bush administration. In the unhinged manner in which his supporters turned a center-right president like George Bush into some sort of sinister reactionary, so too they deified a rookie senator as the long-awaited liberal messiah.

How could irony not follow from all that?

For the past seven years the United States has seen no repeat of 9/11, although plots were uncovered and threats from radical Islam were leveled in serial fashion. The ability to intercept and hold terrorists overseas, to tap into cell-phone calls abroad, to detain terrorists caught on the field of battle, and to ensure that intelligence agencies freely swapped information was critical to our unexpected salvation.

Like Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Truman, and other wartime presidents (though none of the above witnessed 3,000 Americans butchered on the soil of the United States by foreign agents), George Bush, with strong bipartisan support, enacted new wartime protocols in the effort to protect the security of the United States. Only a fool would suggest that these homeland-security efforts were unnecessary, or that, in unprecedented fashion, they shredded the Constitution.

Hurry, Pass the Spendulus Bill Then…

February 17, 2009

Okay, so we couldn’t wait to have the Spendulus Bill passed! Right? The United States was going to collapse if we didn’t get the thing through Congress and then the Senate on Friday. No time for anyone to read it–oh, yes, most of them knew the major items, but not what had been put back in at the last minute, not the still hidden items–they had to have it passed within 11 hours of printing at midnight.  Why?

Because Pelosi had to have time to crow about the passing before she and seven other from congress could be wheels-up by six from Andrews on a USAF jet to Europe to meet the Pope today.

Then, to get the senate side done they flew democrat Senator Sherrod Brown from Ohio where his mother had passed away and he had to wait until the end of her wake to come back and vote around midnight, and go back–the White House sent a plane and the Senate held the vote open. Would they have done that for the deciding vote of a Republican if it was to stop the bill?

And Then, Obama flies the family back to Chicago for Valentine’s Day–again, with all the hoopla, you’d think he’d have waited until the vote final in the Senate and have a big deal to do right on the spot. But, No, he takes AFOne to Chicago, spends the weekend out and about, and then returns to Washington yesterday, President’s Day to sign the bill, Right?

NO! He’s going to sign it in Denver TODAY at a solar panel plant to ensure we know he’s the Green One. So why fly back to Washington one day then back out to Denver and back the next? Seems like a whole lot of AvGas wasted and another 100s of tons of CO2–you know, the planet killer gas. I can only guess that it would save about half that gas and pollution had he gone to Denver from Chicago and then back to Washington today, but that means all those folks (including the TRINOS–Specter, Snow, Collins–I’m sure) hitching a ride to Denver today on AFOne to get a signing pen wouldn’t have gotten there or had to travel–gasp!–by commercial air or not gone at all. Yeah, right!

So, we are finally going to see the Partisan social-gluttonous Spendulus Bill signed today, FOUR frakking days after it was passed unread by those voting, certainly not posted so we the people could see it for 48 hours as Promised by Pelosi, and of such urgency that we could’ve all starved to death in the mean time from inaction to save us with 30 Million Marsh Mouse Stilulus!

UPDATE:  Oh, and then he’s going to Phoenix tomorrow for the Housing Plan that has nothing in the TARP or Spendulus Bill??!!  How inefficient is that for the Green One??!!  My head is going to explode!

So, let’s recap, shall we?  This weekend Chicago for vacation, back to Washington yesterday; today, Washington to Denver to Washington; and tomorrow, Washington to Phoenix back to Washington? Get on Google and figure those muiles out–what is he doing? Working on AF1 Frequent Flier Miles?? He’s going to need to replant all of Nevada in trees to offeset his carbon offset for this week alone!

Update: I.A. (547pm cst):  Okay, I was misinformed, The Green One has landed in Phoenix, so at least, someone had a brighter Idea than crisscrossing the US 3 times in 3 days.

UPDATE II:    From most recent eMail from NoStimulus.com

By the way, today when the President says this is a carefully drawn, fiscally responsible bill consider what is in the final legislation:

Billions in outright pork and wasteful spending:
$300 million for buying cars for federal bureaucrats;$3.7 billion for something called “green research” on military bases;$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts; $2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization” to radical groups like ACORN;$1.3 billion for Amtrak; $10 million for”urban canals”(I’m not making this up); etc.

The Road to Government Run Health Care
$1.1 billion for “comparative effectiveness research” that will establish a federal government board to begin rationing health care by having bureaucrats deciding which medical treatments will be appropriate for which Americans.(Page 52 of final conference report)

Overturning the Historic Welfare Reform of 1996
$264 billion for direct welfare payments while overturning the historic welfare reform of 1996.The Pelos\Reid\Obama bill will reward states with federal welfare funds based on the number of people they put on their welfare rolls – a perverse incentive that will in effect give states “bonuses” for adding more people to welfare rolls AND work requirements are ignored in this legislation.

$53.6 billion for a “state stabilization fund” otherwise known as a slush fund
This massive infusion of our tax dollars is designed to alleviate the need for genuine budget reform and cutting at the state level.

So, when you hear folks saying this Pelosi\Reid\Obama “stimulus” bill was a “compromise” that cut waste to the bone while focusing only on “shovel ready” priorities, call them on it!

UPDATE III: IT’S  SIGNED @ 1:24 pm mst

/God save us all
